Responsibilities
As an Embedded Software Validation/Automation Engineer, you will play an integral role in designing and developing software tests and the accompanying frameworks for new silicon devices, ensuring that we develop outstanding products with outstanding quality.
Other responsibilities include:
Analyzes test results to ensure correct functionality, determine root causes of failures and recommends corrective action.
Consults with development engineers & architects in resolution of problems.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Bachelors/Masters in a Computer Science, Electronics or equivalent discipline with a strong academic record.
Background in embedded software development, test, debug and toolchains.
Proficiency in Python & C programming.
Relevant experience in development of test automation frameworks for embedded platforms involving automation of test cases, test equipment and test rigs
Experience working with software release procedures, test methodologies, QA processes and software defect tracking; demonstrated ability to apply test methodologies including development of test plans and test cases.
Desired Experience
Knowledge of Intel Architecture and x86 ISA.
Experience in Linux device driver or Linux kernel development & test or other Unix based OS.
Experience with embedded RTOS test & development such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Contiki.
Experience of working in a virtualized environment desired, especially with VMWare technologies.
Knowledge of other scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Ruby, VBScript along with sed, awk, bash.
Familiarity with source code management systems; Git experience is a plus.
Experience in database management systems, SQL.
